Going to send dossier

We've been told to go ahead and send dossier without the mortgage letter. So tomorrow Steve is going to Richmond to get everything else apostilled and mail it out. The worst that can happen is the SDA office rejects it, saying they need that document. But while the dossier is in transit and being translated, we can still be working on AHMSI to get it right. If we need to send it later, we can. It'll just cost another 100 bucks to mail it separate, but I guess that's still cheaper than our other alternative....Steve flying out to AHMSI headquarters in Irving, TX to get it taken care of. If anyone knows of someone in the Dallas area that could assist us in making sure the next document AHMSI mails us is correct would be awesome!!

  1. Yes, I agree...I think that's the best possible solution, friend. Who knows...with God in control they may just overlook it. :)

  4. How frustrating. I am so sorry you are going through this. I, too, wish I lived in Dallas so I could give them a piece of my mind! Who knows, it may be worth it to fly out there if you can find a cheap plane ticket, at this point!

  9. Just vouching for sixmonthturnaround. I'm a RR mommy, in the process of adopting Katya, other angels--you can cross check with Andrea if you need to. We know sixmonthturnaround has a great ability to sink his teeth into a problem and go on and on up the line till he gets someone who will do something. He is nothing short of persistent on a matter like this, and usually gets results! We contacted him and asked him to come check out your plight. Praying for you.

  10. To "sixmonthturnaround"......I may take you up on your offer depending on whether this gets resolved today or not. If this goes on into tomorrow, then I may need your help. I don't have an email address for you. You can email me at carey.schwenzer@gmail.com. Thanks so much!

  13. Dear Carey,

I am the grandmother of a beautiful 2-year old girl who was adopted from China last year. I've been following your blog and have loved hearing about every step of this blessed journey to your sons. My heart goes out to you as you complete this very lengthy and time-consuming process related to your dossier. Possibly you could contact your congressmen to help you with this. Many of them have helped people who find themselves in difficult situations such as yours with your mortgage company. I'm thrilled that there are those in the Irving area who are willing to help, but if they cannot, perhaps someone in office will be able to make the difference. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.

    Best wishes to you!

  14. Carey,

Sorry, I just posted and made a mistake. I said "your sons", but I do know that you're going to adopt Julia and Aaron!

  15. Sounds like you have lots of people ready and willing to go to bat for you in the Dallas area. I have a brother and sister in law in Dallas too. Hmmm...strength in numbers??? They could all band together and "storm the castle" for you! When I was adopting several years ago from a completely different country, we used the same approach you have taken--submitted the dossier knowing it would be "kicked out" because of a missing document that was in process, but it got my in the pipeline.
