As many of you know, we are trying to adopt two children with special needs from Ukraine. Sweet Julia is diagnosed with Cockayne Syndrome (CS) which is characterized by premature aging. Children with CS usually pass away between 4-7 years of age. She is almost 4. She is on borrowed time. Our little boy Sergey has cerebral palsy and will be 6 years old in February. This is when he would be transferred to a mental institution where conditions will be much worse for him. We cannot delay getting these two precious children home to us. Ukraine is trying to pass a law which would stop ALL international adoptions. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use the link from this blog post below to get the form letter that you can send to the Congressmen and Senators in your state. There is even a link for you to contact them easily! PLEASE take a few minutes to help save these precious children!

Sent off my letters! Hoping and praying they help!! We, too, are in the process of adopting two unrelated special needs children (6 &7 year old boys from China) and I can only imagine how we'd feel if their country threatened to shut down international adoption. Julia and Sergey need you!! Be strong and keep praying!!

I sent letters to my congressman and both senators. I hope to one day adopt a child from the Ukraine and I am praying for you and your angles daily!

ReplyDeleteI sent out my letters and got an automated response that my letter was received...I pray that nothing stops these adoptions!!!!
