Hello all. Long time, no blog. We have been extra busy now that the end is in sight! Just got off the phone with Eldon at Golden Rule Travel. We have our first trip flights booked and ready to go. Carey is busy scrambling around trying to get the myriad of lose ends tied up that come with having family and friends watching 3 of our 4 kids for 3 plus weeks. This is a rather daunting endeavor with so many unknowns. Will we have enough time? Will we have everything we need? Will we have enough money to make it to the end? Did I forget any documentation? ( I have a bad memory so this is a very real concern)
We just have to remember to put it all in the Lord's hands. I have to remind myself often of Matthew 6:25-27 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
I have also updated our Chip In for what we believe is the final amount we will need to complete the adoption of Julia and Aaron. Rest assured, any money raised that we end up not needing for our adoption will be donated to another family in process once our children have been brought home. So prayerfully consider helping us reach this final goal. I thank you all for your prayers and support. This has been an exciting but very taxing journey so far. Please continue to pray for us. It means the world to Carey and I.
I clicked on your chipin and it says that it isn't a secure connection. Any ideas why? Should I ask Andrea at RR?
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I got the same error using the newest version of firefox. I switched over to Internet Explorer and it worked fine. I would try a different browser. It is going to an https address which means it is using secure socket layers. So, I would give the alternate browser a try.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeletePraying for your your final fundraising and journey! How exciting to have travel plans!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you! We are getting our Commitment ready for a little guy from RR, in EE... Are you taking your littlest guy with you? How old is he? With just you and hubby?
ReplyDeleteWe want to bring our 2 yo girl with us so I am trying to get as much btdt experience as possible! We will follow your journey and pray for you!!
I wish your family the best of luck with your adoption. I know how hard the fundraising is. We've been giving it a go for our adoption (also of a little one with medical and other needs), but we aren't having the best luck so far. I so truly appreciate what the handful of contributors have given. They've been so kind. We still have a long way to go and are struggling to get our fundraiser (online) "out there". (At this stage, we aren't close to breaking even when it comes to bringing in what we spent to make the fundraiser happen and we were as conservative as possible while trying to pick up items we think people will be excited about.) Hopefully people will find their way to your blog and let their generosity flow. I can't wait to see Julia and Aaron home with your family!
ReplyDeleteTo "Living for the Lord in 2011".....we are bringing our 22 month old with us. He is at the age where he wouldn't be able to understand why we just dropped off the face of the earth for so long. Our three oldest are staying with my mom. They will have an easier time without him as well. So.....follow along and see how this goes with us!!
