Things are Moving!

Yes, we are trucking right along! My and Evan's passports came in a couple days ago. The I600A and the CPS Release of Information forms go out with the Fed Ex tomorrow. We are diligently working on our personal histories. Clair, the amazing home studier from Forever Families, will be here Wednesday for the tour of the manor and the whole family interviews. We will be going to get our physicals also on Wednesday. Now it's time to go knocking on Congressman Whittman's door and ask him to intercede for us to help things move along. One family shouldn't be allowed to have so much fun!

Of course there is some fun being had. The former playroom has now been repainted and reconfigured. This room will now be the princesses room. Princess Regan and Princess Julia will share. It's now a pretty shade of purple (I think the color might have been called Lilac Love) and will soon have little white butterflies flying up the walls. Oh, and there is a whole bin of dress-up clothes, mostly princess outfits, that the princesses can wear and model in front of the mirror.

Regan had just one question...Where's Julia? Oh how we wish she were here now so that we could hold her and love on her and spoil her. I find myself tearing up several times a day...every time I think of her over there all alone in her crib. I want to leave now and go get her! My prayer every day is for God to protect and watch over her and perform a miracle to get her in our arms as fast as possible. Please keep praying with me for this little girl.

Good night, my sweet little princess. We will see you soon...

  1. Steve, I have been so moved reading about Julia, and your family's efforts to bring her home. I wish I were close enough to do more to help, but know that you are all in my prayers, and will be until Julia is home with her forever family. I wish you all the best as you embark on this amazing journey...

  2. I am so excited she has a family. I check daily just to make sure it is so surreal. I pray for a speedy and painless adoption.

    Be blessed

  3. Princess Julia...love! Love the choice of color for the bedroom...same color our daughter Emma's room always was! Things are moving very fast it seems...I am praying for things to continue to go smoothly and quickly. Yes, Julia needs out of that crib and into arms. Bless your family!

  5. I am so happy that Julia has your family now. My heart breaks for everyone of those little precious babes who are left to live a loveless life far away from caring arms. Our family prays for yours and we live this vicariously through you. God bless you!

  7. Hi there,
Pretty new to your blog but wanted to let you know I am praying for your family and especially for Princess Julia that the Lord will speed things long! That precious baby needs OUT of that crib and away from those days and nights that probably blur into one endless monotony for them. She needs to be in the arms of her forever family ASAP where she can blossom to her fullest potential! God Bless you all, Lori

  8. Have to share this with you! Just a few minutes ago as i left a comment using google, I had to do a word verification which is pretty typical.
The word was "progeni" and I thought "Wait a minute. I KNOW that word but I think it ends with a 'y'. I can't remember exactly what it means though." So I looked it up... "Born to,descendants of..."
This brings chills to me because I have ALWAYS wanted children and, not being married, not being financially able and having some personal issues from my past to work out, it was never the right time. But lately, I have not been able to quiet my "mother's heart." I've been rather passive about it feeling that there is no way I'd qualify to adopt or foster parent even due to being abused as a child and also having PTSD as a result of it as well as continuing financial difficulties.
But that word "progeni" I felt was a clear sign from God saying "Take that leap of faith...you'll never know if you don't try..." And so just now, I put in a call to DHS and am waiting for a callback.
I am EXCITED--for BOTH of us!!!

  9. I was so moved with Julia's story and had wished that we could adopt her. I prayed for her and hoped someone would adopt her, what a blessing she is! Your lives will be so blessed, praise God for your generous hearts!
