Little hope for AHMSI

Just want to let you all know that we really believe there is little hope for AHMSI pulling through. After repeated attempts yesterday and today to find out when the document can be notarized correctly and sent to us, we were told that they have 72 business hours to process our request. That's 9 business days. We can't seem to get anywhere with them.

We did a bit of research on the company and found several things out that lead us to believe we have no recourse in dealing with them. They are not publicly traded, the company is owned by foreigners, lawyers have sued and tried to serve subpoenas, there are armed guards in the building that let NO ONE in, the list goes on and on. Basically, it seems EVERYONE that deals with them, eventually gets no where and just decides not to do business with them anymore.

We already knew this, but they are not a lending company, just a debt collecting agency. We found that 93% of the loans are not even owned by them, they just receive a service fee for continuing to collect the debts. There really isn't anyway to find out if our mortgage has been "sold" off, and even if we could, we probably wouldn't get anywhere with whoever they may be. We seem to be at a dead end here.

So I'm glad we didn't send anyone on a wild goose chase (including ourselves), wasting time trying to physically go there and try to get this done. That would have been a waste of anyone's time and money. We need to pray that the SDA approves our dossier without this proof of mortgage.

In the meantime, we are going to try to find some way to get our mortgage information on our county assessor's document again. Not sure how yet, but this may be our only option. If it works, then we can have it apostilled here in VA. It would be much quicker this way!

Please pray that something comes through!!!

  2. I am praying. No shut door is too difficult for God to open. He's going to knock this one out of the building!! He's amazing that way!

  3. I'm sorry to hear of your continued difficulties.

We live in Loudoun County in VA. If by chance you are in the same county I've got the number for the person who does these for adoptions. Honestly we only had two issues and if you email me I'll be happy to explain how we addressed (brianmacy@gmail.com).

  4. Would a copy of your mortgage statement suffice? I know for one of our documents we made a copy and said it was a true and exact copy and had a notary notarize it. Maybe that might work.
